Professional Role & Oracle Products Used
My current professional role centers around Oracle and its diverse applications and technology offerings. In recent years, I've had the opportunity to become increasingly engaged with Oracle's "Cloud" products, as well as those from other vendors. Beginning my Oracle journey as a developer in the mid-1980s, my career has spanned over many years, evolving to include roles such as Oracle DBA, Functional/Technical Lead, Program/Project Manager, Program Director, and Strategic Trusted Advisor. I've successfully led numerous Oracle implementation and upgrade projects, from on-premise setups to large-scale Cloud migrations. Additionally, I’ve been deeply involved in the integration of Oracle SaaS (cloud) with Oracle EBS (cloud/on-premise). As an Oracle Application and Technology ACE, co-author of several Oracle books and the StreetSmarts series, I’m a passionate OATUG advocate—actively supporting, presenting, and attending OATUG and Oracle events.
What makes the OATUG mission meaningful to you?
The OATUG mission is unparalleled—no other organization serves our user community in such a crucial way. There’s nowhere else I’d rather dedicate my time and efforts to support its mission. I take great satisfaction in giving back to the user community that has provided so much throughout my career. OATUG, as a member-driven organization, has maintained its independence from Oracle, offering unbiased support to customers through education, advice, and networking to help them get the most out of their Oracle investments. This alignment with my own values is what draws me to support OATUG's mission, both professionally and as a volunteer.
Why are you running for the Board, and what skills, connections, resources and expertise do you have to offer the organization?
Giving back has been a cornerstone of my journey. Since 1991, when I completed my first Oracle EBS Installation as Technical Lead, I have had the privilege of becoming a trusted advisor to countless Oracle product owners and OATUG member organizations. Over the past thirty+ years, from 1991 to 2024, I’ve successfully led hundreds of Oracle projects of varying size and complexity. Working with a wide range of organizations has enriched my understanding of diverse perspectives, cultures, and ideas, enhancing my ability to address complex Oracle and business challenges. These experiences have sharpened my leadership, strategic, and tactical skills while refining my critical thinking—skills I am eager to bring to the OATUG Board.
If re-elected to the Board of Directors, I am confident in my ability to continue delivering valuable contributions to the Board, our members, and the continued success of OATUG's mission.
