I have been working with Oracle E-Business Suite since it was called Oracle Financials in character mode.
I've upgraded to 10.7 in a global implementation with the challenges of localization. Then it was 11i and learning through the experience up to 11.5.10.2. I was invited to co-author a book on Release 12. That was because of my expertise in implementing E-Business Suite from 12.0 to 12.1 to many customers globally.
The Oracle EBS product team invited us to be the first beta tester of 12.2, which involved almost a year of testing and providing feedback to a fantastic team from Oracle that built Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2.
We now reached a point that many organizations expect Oracle to extend support for EBS 12.1, and it seems like this will not be the case. Users of Oracle E-Business Suite R12.1 need to take action now to avoid the costs and risks of losing Premier Support.
I would like to hear your thoughts on this and also invite you to a series of webinars sponsored by IT Convergence that I'll be co-presenting. We'll talk about costs and risks of going out of Premier support and some of the new features. We will have a special section on modernization by "move and improve" Oracle E-Business Suite to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
