Closing the EOL Drain and Modernizing Your IT Infrastructure

When:  Jun 29, 2021 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM (ET)
Abstract:

Many applications are created for the cloud but what about your systems that aren’t born in the cloud? Customized applications that are mission-critical become a drain on IT departments if they’re written to run on legacy operating systems (OS) and hardware platforms. Those layers of infrastructure are approaching end-of-life (EOL) status and can present risks of unplanned downtime and the lack of ongoing support – both are potential security & compliance challenges.

How do you ensure your EOL OS is supported and risks are mitigated? How do you ensure uptime on  your aging IT infrastructure? Using general customer examples, we’ll be discussing:

  • The layers of infrastructure, where there are gaps of support, and choosing which gaps to close
  • Mitigate risks of EOL systems, including security vulnerabilities, and meet audit requirements while modernizing your infrastructure
Learning Objectives:
Understand the layers of infrastructure and where there is a gap in support as well as the overall drain it has on your infrastructure.
How you can maintain support for your end-of-life operating systems, mitigate perceived security vulnerabilities and meet audit requirements while modernizing your infrastructure.
