Security Patching. It's one of those things that you just HAVE to do. We're all used to the Quarterly Critical Patch Updates (CPUs) that are released in January, April, July, and October. At one point, the general consensus was that we should try to be no more than one patch behind. Mostly due to the testing efforts, many organizations would only apply two of the patches each year.
And then, in May of 2026, everyone was surprised when Oracle started releasing monthly "Critical Security Patch Updates" (CSPUs). These were introduced when hackers started using AI to exploit previously unknown vulnerabilities. In response, Oracle (and other software vendors) have joined the race to correct and patch those vulnerabilities.
As a result, staying current on these patches becomes MUCH more important. But how do we handle testing? Join us for a panel discussion on deployment and testing strategies in this new era of AI-driven monthly security patches.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the new structures behind security patches.
- Evaluate the risks behind various security patch strategies.
- Debate strategies for deploying and testing security patches.
- Discuss how this might all fit in with the upcoming Next Generation Technology Stack for E-Business Suite.
