This paper highlights how effectively Oracle EBS was utilized as a Pandemic Coronavirus Vaccine Delivery system, when the existing preparedness for the Pandemic system was deemed non-functional. The existing Client Pandemic Ordering system designed for Order capture had issues controlling the Ordering of the Vaccine, which led to the design of an Ordering Interface (Push), Bulk Upload solution (Pull) with specific weekly Ordering Quota in place.
In addition, in the absence of a BOM license, we will discuss how Advanced Pricing was utilized in defaulting the vaccine leaflets, a specialized requirement for early Warehouse visibility of specific vaccines, in order to provide an increased lead time for Picking staff. Contractually the Client was obliged to provide a 1 minute, Delivery Day Acknowledgment back to their system which increased the complexity of the technical development.Learning Objectives
- Understanding the urgency of the overall solution build on Oracle EBS platform, and details.
- How Advanced Pricing was used in the absence of BOM license, for multiple scenarios of Leaflet defaulting
- Using Integrated SOA Gateway and Oracle coding standards to effectively achieve the 1-minute SLA of Order Acknowledgement back to the Ordering system even with the huge volume and multiple business logic in Oracle EBS.
