What makes the OATUG mission meaningful to you?

The OATUG mission drives knowledge from the knowing to the unknowing. Oracle Financials applications are a tool, which can be applied or misapplied. By making the application more accessible to its users, the users can make better use of the applications. OATUG's role brings users together from all levels, without sales pressure, without peer pressure, to learn how best to deploy and maintain the applications.

At its core, helping users to make better use of technology is what I have been doing my entire career. OATUG is a natural partner for me to work with to continue that quest.

Please list your previous and current OATUG volunteer roles, COLLABORATE experience, and other volunteer or leadership experience with other organizations:

I have been an active member of the Users Group since 1994. I began taking on leadership roles in 2001 when I joined the Customer Support Council. I served on the OAUG Board in 2011 and 2012, and then from 2015 to the present. I am also a member and treasurer of the Westchester Emergency Communications Association (WECA), and I have held numerous financial positions in my synagogue, where I currently serve as president.

Why are you running for the board, and what skills, connections, resources, and expertise do you have to offer to the organization?

I am running for re-election to the board to be able to play an active role in securing the financial health of the organization, through better and more effective reporting, exploration and implementation of new revenue opportunities, and continued savings through cost management.

Tell us about your current professional role and what Oracle products you are using and/or supporting.

I am the Associate Director for Financial Systems at Consumer Reports, overseeing all the financial applications. The core financial applications include Oracle General Ledger, Payables, Purchasing, Fixed Assets, Receivables, and iProcurement. We use IBM TM1 for budgeting and reporting, and SAP-Concur for T&E expense reporting and tracking.
