  • 1.  Mobile App for iExpense

We are looking at setting up the mobile Oracle Expense App for our end users who want to be able to create expense report and approve expense reports when they are outside of the office.  Does anyone have an good tips and tricks on the best practices for setting up this app for end users working outside the office?  Any limitations?

    Thank you!

There are some excellent presentations on the OATUG Knowledgebase.
Here are the titles of 4 of them that I found for Oracle Expense mobile app:
    1. Track Your Expenses on the go With Oracle Fusion Expense Mobile Application
    2. Expenses on the Go! How to Implement Mobile Expenses to Drive Efficiency.
    3. EBS to Mobile: Real World Best Practices

    Hi Dione,

in general it is a good advise to architect your EBS setup in that way that you've an external application server and a reverse proxy/load balancer in a DMZ in front of it. As the users want to use it on the go from external without the need to setup VPN in their mobile phones.

And when implementing Mobile Expenses it is also a god idea to implement Mobile Approvals App as well!
One limitation the user usually do not like - per diem expenses cant be done in the mobile app.

If you want push messages sent to your mobile apps - you need to get familiar "Oracle Mobile Cloud Service (MCS)" as this is neede dfor push notifications.
Here an overview of the MCS architecture.
