Appreciation, Innovation, and Growth: Reflecting on the Future of OATUG

As I begin my tenure as OATUG president, I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude for the people and efforts that make this organization extraordinary. OATUG has a remarkable legacy of collaboration, innovation, and community-driven progress, and I am honored to build on this foundation.

Recognizing Tireless Efforts

First and foremost, I want to express my appreciation for the entire OATUG headquarters staff, whose dedication and energy fuel our daily operations. In particular, I extend my heartfelt thanks to Ragan Cohn and Mike Jones for their tireless efforts in ensuring OATUG runs seamlessly. Their leadership and commitment are invaluable assets to this organization.

I am also thrilled to welcome Laura Guerin as our new Executive Director. Laura has already demonstrated her potential to be a tremendous asset to OATUG, and I am excited to see her leadership drive us toward even greater achievements.

Celebrating Volunteers and Leadership

OATUG thrives on the passion and dedication of its volunteers. From presenters to committee members, leaders, and the Board of Directors, every individual contributes to our collective success. This is a 100% volunteer effort, and I would like to highlight the exceptional leadership of my predecessors, Diane DaNazza and Bill Dunham, whose vision and guidance have paved the way for our continued progress.

Additionally, I am committed to supporting the leaders of tomorrow. I warmly welcome Esther Capozzoli to the Board of Directors and extend congratulations to Gustavo Gonzalez on becoming President-Elect. Together, we will shape the future of OATUG and fulfill our obligations to the next generation of leaders.

Learning from Success and Seeking Growth

As we look ahead, it’s important to reflect on what OATUG has done well and identify areas where we can excel further. One standout example is Oracle’s continued investment in Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS), as highlighted by Nadia Bendjedou, Oracle’s VP of Product Strategy. Innovations like incorporating artificial intelligence into EBS exemplify how Oracle evolves a successful application to remain at the forefront of technology.

This inspires us to ask:

• How do we partner with Oracle to bring these advancements to our members?
• How do we encourage our community to adopt these innovations and incorporate them into their organizations?

At the same time, we must also consider areas where we can improve. While maintaining our commitment to supporting, educating, and communicating the future of EBS, we must explore ways to expand our members’ knowledge of Oracle Cloud offerings—particularly in ERP, EPM, and HCM (through our partnership with OHUG). This growth is essential to ensure our members remain competitive in an ever-evolving business landscape.

OATUG’s strength lies in its ability to adapt, grow, and meet the needs of its diverse membership. By learning from our successes, embracing new challenges, and fostering collaboration within our community and with Oracle, we will continue to provide unparalleled value to our members. I am eager to work alongside all of you to ensure that OATUG remains a vibrant, innovative, and inclusive organization.
