Abstract: Supply chain visibility has evolved from a nice-to-have to a need-to-have. Knowing the exact location of your shipments—and being able to confidently predict when those shipments will arrive at their destinations—is key to improving customer satisfaction and compliance. But what comes next? How do you extend the value of visibility beyond your transportation and track-and-trace teams to truly provide best-in-class customer service? Priya Rajagopalan of FourKites, together with Preston Bruessow of Dow Chemicals, will discuss the next frontier of supply chain visibility. They'll go beyond the simple "Where's my truck?" question to tackle the broader implications of next-generation visibility and what it means to your customers. These include reimagined warehouse management, improved inventory management, customer-vendor collaboration, enhanced driver satisfaction, yard and gate management, and the true meaning of the phrase "shipper of choice." Abstract: As a large coffee manufacturing company that covers the journey of coffee from a tree in a farmer’s backyard to a cup of coffee in middle of a bustling Seattle downtown, one can only imagine how diversified our transportation network can be to transform this into reality. We have been manufacturing and shipping coffee for more than 40yrs, we have over the course of time used various 3PL’s and 4PL’s to manage our transportation network. However, going forward as a company, we resolved that in-sourcing of domestic transportation management was necessary to achieve corporate supply chain visibility, fiscal traceability, and cost control objectives. A 3-year, phased implementation program was chartered and initiated in year 2017 starting with an infrastructure upgrade for hardware and software to support disaster recovery requirements. Starbucks successfully implemented the planning and execution solution for outbound channel business segments in phase 1, year 2018 and then the retail business segments in phase 2, year 2019. The final phase is planned for deployment in year 2020 and will include supplier inbound and temperature-controlled freight planning and execution. Concurrent with the multi-year program, Starbucks has ramped down services from a 3PL and in-sourced to corporate and field employees. We would like to take this opportunity to share with all the details of this initiative on both IT and business side about a transformation journey that involved in getting transportation insourced for millions of dollars in transportation spend YoY, with significant ROI attached to it YoY.

Abstract: Newpark Resources, a leading company in drilling fluids implemented OTM in the year 2011 and has been leveraging the OTM-EBS integrated solution since then. For its transportation needs, Newpark has a network of carriers, brokers and 3rd party agents that help arrange the right fleet in time at agreed and contracted rates. Newpark also has an owned fleet of about 40+ vehicles which is managed internally. With OTM, we had various agents, brokers and carrier login to OTM for collaboration including Tender Acceptance/Rejection and to update various events. This worked well in terms of coordination with the third and fourth parties but didn’t give the real time updates. Many times, we had these events being entered very late in OTM resulting in lack of right information in right time. At times the delay was as high as 24 hours. Newpark was looking forward for various options which can be used to get the events entered in time. This was still manageable for internal fleet but really a task to get it in time through third and fourth parties in the logistics network. We then decided to implement the mobility solution that can help our stakeholders in the logistics ecosystem improve operational efficiency by getting the events entered in OTM in a real time manner. Inspirage helped Newpark Resources achieve their goal of achieving operational excellence. With OTM on mobile, our third and fourth parties in the logistics ecosystem can add various events in real time. Our Transportation and warehouse teams can get the real time updates and notifications and can track the shipments at their ease using their mobile devices. We intend to present our business scenarios, challenges faced and how we resolved them using OTM. Join this presentation to know about our success story with OTM and Mobility solutions in achieving logistics operational excellence at Newpark Resources.

Abstract: Cisco Systems is the market leader in networking and Hi-Tech Manufacturing industry with annual revenues around US$49.3 billion. Cisco’s supply chain footprint extends across 13 countries and more than 25 locations, making it truly global. This highly complex supply chain system includes more than 20,000 virtual teams, 700 suppliers, 3200 order categories and 220,000 items shipped on a daily basis. Furthermore, it is diverse with more than 30,000 orderable items and 60,000 components; each product being customizable and configurable to meet customer requirements. Cisco has been leveraging most established capabilities of Oracle Transportation Management from Sourcing and Rate Maintenance to Order & Shipment Management and Financial settlement to fortify their competitive advantage. The operationalization journey of Freight Sourcing at Cisco brought to focus that awarded bids often resulted in carrier/service provider contracts that were periodic weight-based capacity commitments. In response, Cisco has developed an ‘in-house’ solution that works with Oracle Transportation Management version 6.4.1 to implement weight-based capacity constraints that honor awarded carrier bids. Cisco's solution includes monitoring cumulative planned shipment weight to given carriers per lane, adhering to business configurable thresholds and assigning carriers to order releases for planning. The solution is scalable and applicable in equal measure to both outbound and inbound logistics. Successful implementation of this solution has improved carrier participation in sourcing bids and partner satisfaction. Cisco's solutions are one of the industry's first and has also been accepted as part of OTM's product backlog to be introduced as an out-of-box feature in a future release.

Abstract: Routing guides are rarely updated and move slowly. At the same time, they are critical to effective procurement. So why not make them smarter? In this talk, we discuss the story behind Coca Cola’s move to Oracle Cloud and how they were able to create a smarter routing guide by integrating with Loadsmart. Loadsmart, a digital freight brokerage, provides Coca Cola real-time market rates for every shipment moving in their routing guide. By inserting real-time rates alongside the static prices, Coca Cola is able to take advantage of favorable conditions and avoid overpaying for routing guide freight. The result? Loads are covered earlier and at a demonstrably lower cost, resulting in significant savings and reduced spot volume. Join Hunter Yaw, VP of Product @ Loadsmart, and John Reynolds, Director of IT for Supply Chain at Coca Cola, to learn: Why Coca Cola made the move to Oracle Cloud. How Coca Cola integrated with Loadsmart via OTM. How the Dynamic Routing Guide works. How Coca Cola has benefited (...and you can too). Why algorithmic sourcing, not assets, is the new guarantee for capacity
