Celebrating 25 Years of Global Logistics Technologies (G-Log)
Nearly two decades have passed since Oracle acquired G-Log, yet we still hear about the web-based TMS platform's name today. If you are part of the community, the term G-Log carries more significance than just TMS software. Whether you were an employee or a customer of G-Log, you feel like you belong to a club or fraternity. G-Log had a culture of togetherness; collaboration, and inclusivity that still resonates within the OTM SIG Community today.
Global Logistics Technologies, Inc., also known as G-Log, rose to prominence as a leading developer of transportation management software. G-Log had offices in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, and Shelton, Connecticut. It was founded in May 1999 to redefine transportation management by James Mooney, Karl Baker, Marybeth Roberts, and Mitch Weseley.
At the forefront of the company's software development was the development of GC3 (Global Command and Control Center), an innovative transport management and freight optimization system tailored to the specific needs of shippers and logistics service providers (LSP).
The company showed early signs of success announcing ten consecutive quarters of revenue growth by 2002. In a strategic move aimed at fortifying G-Log's market presence, Oracle Corporation acquired G-Log in November 2005. This ushered in a new era, culminating in rebranding the esteemed GC3 product to the product you know today as Oracle Transportation Management (OTM). The acquisition solidified G-Log's position as a transformative force within the logistics technology domain, seamlessly integrating its innovative solutions into the comprehensive Oracle ecosystem.
