Professional Role & Oracle Products Used

I am the CEO of ERP Risk Advisors.  We are experts in ERP security and controls delivered through our assessments, risk content, and managed services.   Oracle applications is our core expertise and has been for over 25 years.  Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) is an ugly beast and we can help organization ‘go live’ clean an ‘stay clean’.  One of the key failings in most implementations happens in the preparedness for SOX compliance.

One pro tip – you MUST use only fully customized roles to address SOX compliance and to minimize your license costs for ERP Cloud.

A second pro tip – MOST system integrators will fight against the implementation of fully customized roles.  This is one of the most significant biases fighting a ‘secure and compliant’ implementation.

Pro tip three – Most large SIs are more concerned about their relationship with Oracle than they are about meeting your organization’s digital transformation goals.

Why are you running for the Board, and what skills, connections, resources and expertise do you have to offer the organization?

I would like to help encourage more members to present at OATUG and via the SIGs (such as the ERP Cloud SIG) about the tips and tricks they have learned along the way.  One passion I have is helping organizations avoid having a ‘failed’ or ‘less than optimal implementation’.  Most ERP implementations aren’t ‘on time’, ‘on budget’, or with all the intended functionality.  We have been doing articles and webinars on this topic to try to raise awareness of the issues that cause a ‘failed’ implementation.  There are systemic issues that are working against you.  There are a few good recorded webinars on this topic that we (ERP Cloud SIG) have highlighted over the years.

I would also like to explore more synergies working with other organizations such as OHUG ODTUG, and Quest.

OATUG and Other Volunteer Experience:

I have been serving as the ERP Cloud SIG VP for the past few years.  I have helped with (almost) monthly ERP Cloud SIG webinars helping to highlight content that I hope has been helpful to those considering moving to Oracle Fusion Cloud or that have already made the move.

I have been involved with OATUG since 1998 or so and have attended the annual conferences most years.  I have been on the leadership of the GRC SIG in the past and have participated in many other SIG as I used to be a functional consultant for E-Business Suite.

I was the OATUG member of the year for 2023.
