Live webinar explores options, answers questions

A recent survey* among members of three Oracle users groups confirms what some of us knew intuitively: on-premises systems remain in place in a majority of our organizations while interest in adopting cloud solutions grows. It's an increasingly common balancing act – supporting the status quo while looking to the future.

As reported by survey respondents, time spent during a typical workday or workweek:

  • 44% devoted to maintaining, fixing, integrating or tracking systems of record or legacy on-premises systems.
  • 33% spent building, deploying and integrating systems of innovation -- new initiatives such as digital, cloud and analytics.

The reality is that some customers are going to be sustaining this balancing act for many years. Their reliance on existing, complex business processes, infrastructure and applications portfolios prevents full-scale, near-term cloud migration.

Oracle recognizes the balancing act that is playing out for many of its customers. In the summer of 2017, we shared with you Oracle's announcements about updates to the Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) Roadmap and continue to bring you updates.

One of the best ways for managing the balancing act in your organization is to stay informed. The OAUG users community is invited to attend a free webcast presented by Oracle SVP Cliff Godwin on March 8. The session will cover:

  • How Oracle plans to support E-Business Suite (EBS).
  • The benefits you can expect from both cloud and on-premises EBS investments.
  • Multiple options to take advantage of the cloud at the speed that makes sense, leveraging the investments you've made.
I hope you'll plan to attend the webcast. And bring your questions for Q&A.

Six in 10 respondents agree that the amount of resources going into legacy maintenance is hurting their organizations' competitiveness.
