Are We Winning the War for Talent?

By Christine Hipp posted 05-11-2018 12:00 AM

The "war for talent" became a popular catchphrase about 20 years ago and is still used to refer to the battles many organizations wage in their efforts to attract, hire and retain qualified employees. In my organization, finding qualified employees is certainly one of our top business challenges.

Earlier this year, the OAUG embraced an opportunity to help our users community – hiring managers and HR professionals – locate specialized talent. Our market research, conducted in March 2018, revealed an estimated 119,000 positions in the United States that require Oracle skills and an average of 3,500 positions posted each month. The OAUG Career Center was launched in April to assist employers in targeting a pool of more than 44,000 experienced Oracle professionals to fill those positions.

Employers can use the OAUG Career Center to post jobs, search resumes and review applications. Job seekers can create professional profiles, set up job agents to search open positions and apply to jobs. Additional professional development tools can help individuals with resume writing, personal branding and career planning.

The OAUG Career Center is open to member and non-member organizations. OAUG member organizations receive a 30 percent discount for job postings. There is no charge for individuals to search open positions, create profiles, apply for jobs or use the career development resources.

Please email me to provide your feedback about the OAUG Career Center. I hope you find this to be a useful resource, and I'd like to know how we can improve the information and tools it contains.
