A New Season Begins: A Team OATUG Update

Helllloooo, fall! Cooler weather, football season, and the excitement of the “fresh start” that’s persisted since my school years… Fall has long been my favorite. And this year, there’s an extra measure of excitement; as we welcome autumn, we are also welcoming a new leader to the OATUG community.

@Julie Anderson, MBA, CAE is succeeding me as OATUG executive director. She comes to us from the American College of Rheumatology, a global medical association she served for 16 years. She brings direct experience in education program development, membership, volunteer and board relations, international outreach, strategic planning and executive leadership. She is going to do a fantastic job for OATUG, supported by the outstanding team here.

What about me? I’m not going far! As many of you know, OATUG has partnered for more than three decades with an award-winning event and association management firm, Meeting Expectations, an Etherio Group company. I’m transitioning to a new leadership role here – SVP of strategy, operations and shared services – a role that allows me to support Julie and her work with OATUG while also broadening my responsibilities and continuing my own professional growth journey in new and challenging ways.

It's been a privilege and honor to serve the OATUG community these last four years as executive director! You truly are people powering progress, and the multitude of ways you’ve continued to do that during the most challenging of circumstances these last few years has been nothing short of inspirational.
