AP Invoice Approvals - Low Maintenance Solutions with Fierce Functionality

When:  Sep 30, 2024 from 01:00 PM to 02:00 PM (ET)
Abstract:
Approval rules are a key element in Functional Design. A typical rule in finance is routing transactions to Cost Center (or Department) Managers. With numerous Cost Centers and multiple workflows, maintenance can get intense. By utilizing the “Manage Departments” table in Oracle Fusion, rules can be built for various approval workflows, pulling from just one table. This session will review the setup of a multi-tier use case for AP Invoices routing to a Cost Center Manager. There will be an overarching theme of ERP financials approval rules in general, and leading practices on setup for low maintenance. We will also review the recent updates made to AP Invoice approvals, the "Manage Payables Workflow Rules in Spreadsheet", and how to leverage this functionality to its full capability.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Understand how to set up the "Manage Departments" table, and how to configure an approval rule in both Business Process Management and "Manage Payables Rules in Spreadsheet" to pull from this setup.
  2. Learn how to use the new functionality "Manage Payables Workflow Rules in Spreadsheet". This is a required spreadsheet for new instances after the 23B release. Review how "Data Sets" work in this tool.
  3. Review approval rule terminology and understand how you can utilize typical "HCM" setups in your ERP approval rules, to create a low maintenance future-proof solution.
