Enabling AI on ANY DBEE Database

It’s no surprise that AI is taking over the conversation in the office. Everyone is talking about how you can leverage AI in the workplace. Did you know that you can do this for almost any version of the Oracle Database? In this session, we will introduce you to Oracle’s free Modular Context Protocol (MCP) server. MCP is a technology that lets you easily attach a Large Language Model AI to your database. You can use MCP against any officially supported version of the Oracle database, as well as older versions (no tech support though), like 11g! The session will cover the most common use cases and include a live demo.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Explain how Oracle’s Modular Context Protocol server works and how it links a large language model to Oracle Database across supported and older versions, such as 11g.
  2. Set up and configure an MCP server to connect an LLM to an Oracle database and execute basic prompts that read and write data safely.
  3. Identify common workplace use cases for AI with Oracle Database and follow a step-by-step demo you can replicate to test MCP in your environment.
