Finance teams in the Oracle ecosystem are under pressure to close faster, answer questions in real time, and provide audit-ready detail—yet many organizations still rely on manual spreadsheet exports, disconnected reports, and repeatable “copy/paste” cycles that introduce risk. At the same time, business users want the flexibility of Excel, while leaders need governance, consistency, and a clear path from summarized balances to the supporting transactions.
In this thought-leadership session for the OATUG community, we’ll explore how modern General Ledger reporting is evolving from static statements to interactive, explainable reporting—where users can start at the financial statement level and confidently drill to account activity and supporting subledger detail without rework. Using GL Sense as the lens, we’ll discuss practical patterns for building a “single version of the truth” that still supports ad hoc analysis, flux/variance investigation, and reconciliation workflows.
Attendees will leave with a clear framework to reduce report sprawl, shrink close-cycle bottlenecks, and enable finance to self-serve insight—without creating an IT dependency for every new question.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify the root causes of “spreadsheet risk” in Oracle financial reporting and close support
- Learn a repeatable approach to statement reporting, drill-down analysis, and reconciliation enablement
- Understand how to align security, governance, and audit needs with finance user agility
- See how teams modernize reporting during or after migration (EBS → Fusion) without losing productivity
