HCM Payroll Best Practices

When:  Apr 23, 2026 from 01:00 PM to 02:00 PM (ET)
While Payroll is its own module within Human Capital Management (HCM), it relies heavily on data from other modules such as Benefits, Compensation, Absences, and Time and Labor. Payroll consolidates this information, calculates results, and distributes outputs downstream—most notably to the General Ledger. Because of these interdependencies, even small configuration gaps can lead to significant downstream impacts on pay accuracy, compliance, and financial reporting.

Drawing on both client-side and implementation experience, this session highlights practical best practices that apply across organizations of all sizes and industries. Attendees will learn how to navigate key payroll integration points—especially the Calculation Card (or the newer Calculation Entries Redwood page)—to troubleshoot pay results and validate employee earnings. The session also covers how to stay ahead of Oracle payroll legislative updates to maintain compliance and system stability, as well as how to structure and maintain payroll costing so financial data flows accurately to the General Ledger.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Identify and troubleshoot payroll data integration points using Calculation Cards/Calculation Entries
  2. Maintain compliance by effectively managing Oracle payroll legislative updates
  3. Optimize payroll costing structures to ensure accurate financial reporting and General Ledger integration
