Oracle Analytics Countdown: 10 Tips for Enhancing Your Oracle Managed Analytics Environment (An Analytics & BI Week Sneak Peek)

If you are currently using Oracle Analytics Cloud, you won't want to miss the OATUG Analytics and BI eLearning Week session entitled: "Oracle Analytics Countdown: 10 Tips for Enhancing Your Oracle Managed Analytics Environment."

@Doug Ross, a manager/architect with Performance Architects, will present 10 top best practice tips to help you maximize your experience with managing an OAC environment.  Doug has spent the past three years delivering OAC implementation consulting for several customers.

Although OAC is a Platform as a Service (PaaS) offering where the underlying analytics software is managed by Oracle, there are still a number of tasks that are necessary to keep your environment in top working order.

(Scroll for a preview of three of his 10 tips.)

Doug tells us a few of the topics to be covered include:

  1. Using the PaaS Service Management command line utility to automate tasks like OAC instance creation and deletion, stopping and starting OAC instances, and scaling instances up and down.  By installing the PSM utility and coupling it with a scheduling tool, these tasks can be performed on a regular basis without human intervention.
  2. Instance limits related to scaling and exporting data in a variety of formats and how they relate to instance configuration.  For customers who are transitioning from on-premise OBIEE environments, these limits are important to consider, especially in OAC development instances.
  3. Setting up usage tracking to monitor user queries.  Usage tracking helps aid in understanding who is using OAC, how they are using it, and identifying any potential performance issues with queries.  The session will cover how to enable usage tracking for both the data visualization and classic OBIEE areas of OAC.

These topics and seven others based on real world implementations will help make your Oracle Analytics Cloud experience more efficient.
