Corporate User Member (University of Pittsburgh)
Professional Role & Oracle Products Used
In my current role as Engagement Leader within the Pitt IT Customer Success and Engagement Office at the University of Pittsburgh, I serve as a liaison between university customers and IT, fostering effective communication, collaboration and understanding to gather feedback and facilitate IT solutions.
In my previous role as Director of ERP Applications, I had management responsibility and oversight for software implementations and upgrades; system assessments; customer support and training; and hardware architectural design to support the E-Business environment. I recently had oversight for the migration of E-Business Suite from on-premise to OCI, and the upgrade of EBS from version 12.1.3 to 12.2.11. I was also the technical manager for the University’s recent implementation of Oracle HCM Cloud in 2021. Other applications include Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud and Oracle Analytics Cloud.
What makes the OATUG mission meaningful to you?
What has always been the most important and meaningful aspect of the OATUG mission for me is being the voice of the Oracle user community. OATUG brings together members from different industries, roles, and product lines to work towards the common goal of improving the Oracle ecosystem. As the voice of the Oracle user community, OATUG represents the issues, challenges, opportunities and priorities of users from all over the world and provides this information to Oracle. As a user of Oracle applications for over 25 years, I want to continue to serve the user community as a volunteer of the board engaging users and working collaboratively with the Oracle community to share ideas, experiences and solutions.
Why are you running for the Board, and what skills, connections, resources and expertise do you have to offer the organization?
I am running for re-election to the OATUG Board for the opportunity to continue to be an advocate and a voice for the Oracle user community. As current OATUG President, I have seen first-hand the impact and difference this “one voice” of the user community can make. As an OATUG Board member for the last 5 years and experience with users’ groups, both product and industry based, I believe I can promote the sharing of knowledge, ideas and experiences among Oracle users. With 25+ years of experience with Oracle E-Business Suite and recent implementation of Oracle HCM Cloud, I believe my experience and user perspective will enable me to represent interests of the Oracle community. This is an exciting time for OATUG to continue as the source for Oracle application and technology users and I look forward to the opportunity to strengthen and grow the mission of the organization.
Other OATUG and Volunteer Experience:
I currently serve as the 2023 President of the OATUG Board of Directors and have served as a member of the Board of Directors since 2019. I have held the OATUG Board positions of President Elect, Treasurer and Secretary and OATUG Forum Online Conference Chair for 2020. I have held positions on the OATUG Governance Committee, Customer Support Council, where I was the Board Liaison, Nominating committee, Women in Technology and OATUG Ambassador for my organization. I also serve as the co-chair and secretary for the OATUG Analytics and BI Special Interest Group.
I have presented and participated in panel discussions at various OATUG and Oracle events, including Collaborate, Oracle OpenWorld, BIWA/Data Analytics Summit, Higher Ed User Group Alliance conference and OATUG Ascend conference, including facilitating Customer Roundtable sessions. I am a member of the Oracle Global Analytics Leader, Higher Ed User Group (HEUG) and Pittsburgh Oracle Application User group.
