I am an HR Technology Analyst at National Oilwell Varco. I primarily manage projects both for an ongoing reorganization to unify the financial systems used by my organization worldwide, as well as the rollout of absence plans globally to meet both legislative and policy requirements. Managing these projects has allowed me to work with a wide range of teams giving me insight into many different business units within my organization.
My organization uses Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM and ERP. I support our HCM environment primarily focusing on absence management, workforce structures, benefits, interfaces, and reporting needs.
What makes the OATUG mission meaningful to you?
Oracle is a highly complex system with the option for custom setups between organizations. This can cause complications, issues, and confusion. OATUG's mission to maximize customers' investments helps to alleviate some of this frustration by providing a unified group to work together as a knowledge base, allow for personal and professional growth, and provide a unified voice for outreach to Oracle. In the years since I first joined OATUG this has allowed me to learn from industry experts advancing my skills, gaining friendships, and allowed me to give back to the community with my own knowledge and experiences.
Why are you running for the Board, and what skills, connections, resources and expertise do you have to offer the organization?
Since joining OATUG it has worked as a launch pad for me to grow professionally, engage with a large community, and have a reliable knowledge base to advance my skills. I want to give back to the community by taking my own experiences and the feedback from other members to help OATUG provide the most value possible and successfully fulfill its vision and mission statements.
I have experience using both EBS and HCM Cloud allowing me to provide insight for customers of both products. I have worked with people from across the world giving me perspective into the challenges that people face regionally and from different backgrounds. My experience as a project manager has given me valuable skills that apply to all professional paths, allowing me to communicate with people from various technical and functional backgrounds.
Other OATUG and Volunteer Experience:
I am currently a Board Member of OATUG, the Co-chair of the Emerging Leaders committee, and on the International Outreach Task Force. I started my time with OATUG as a member of the Emerging Leaders committee. I have given webinar presentations on the committee's behalf and gone through the mentorship program. I have presented at both Ascend 2021 and 2022 conferences. During these conferences I hosted the Emerging Leaders Happy Hours, helped first time attendees, and hosted the Emerging Leader lunch tables. I have also manned the OATUG booth to help with those looking for more information on how to better leverage their membership.
