Oracle Cloud Applications: Automated and Flexible Setup Loading, Reporting and Compares

Gordon Halley & Ian Longstaff, ConfigSnapshot / Rookery Software

Using the right tools, you will deliver the right results each time and save time, cost and risk in the process. Working with complex enterprise systems such as the Fusion (SaaS) Cloud Applications requires a huge amount of configuration work to be performed and maintained over multiple environments (Dev / Test / UAT / Production). Basic implementation tools are provided but do not consider practical usage, lack clarity of reporting or consistency checking and require numerous loading mechanisms / user interfaces.
Join us for this presentation where we will take you through just how easy it can be, with the right tools, to work with the Cloud configuration settings and extract, transform, load, compare them across environments, entities, time and even the quarterly patch updates.
We will touch on the automated generation of MC050s, comparing settings across multiple Cloud environments, seeing the impacts of quarterly patch updates, loading targeted settings across environments, tracking who / what is making changes and user access / segregation of duties reporting etc. The session should be of interest to anyone working with the Oracle Fusion (SaaS) Cloud Applications.

5 pm - 6 pm ET

Best Practices and Automation Options for EBS Customizations

Michael Miller, Syntax

Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) customizations are known collectively as CEMLIs - configurations, extensions, modifications, localizations, and integrations. Far too often efforts to secure and manage EBS CEMLIs are incomplete and are rarely automated. For example, CEMLIs should include Alerts, BI Publisher templates, and Fast Formulas for Payroll and Benefits, not just custom forms, tables, and PL/SQL stored procedures.
This presentation will review best practices for identifying, managing, and securing EBS CEMLIs, and will also review several tools and utilities provided by Oracle for managing CEMLIs such as the new offering for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) customers, the OCI Automated CEMLI Execution utility.

Maximize Your Cloud Investment with Fast, Flexible, and Secure Excel-Based Reporting

James Lamb, Merchants Distributors

As Controller at Merchants Distributors (MDI), I found my team struggling with inefficient processes to create their financial reporting from Oracle ERP Cloud. Although the finance team had some native Cloud ERP reporting, the reports weren't flexible enough to meet our needs, and the steps necessary to perform drilldowns were manual and painful. MDI is a provider for grocery wholesaling, retail support, and logistics support to over 650 stores worldwide. The amount of data we collect and report on is tremendous. I found the performance and efficiency of insightsoftware's solution for Oracle ERP Cloud reporting made the tool a perfect fit for the team, and MDI has benefitted from productivity gains and more flexible reports that meet the needs of their business.

Calling All End-Customers, all SIs and MSPs: Are You Receiving & Providing the Right Testing Services?

Patrick Neary & Tyler Price, DWS

The days when testing was the customers’ problem are long gone. With the Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications being updated every quarter it is no longer reasonable to overlook the importance of testing or to simply make testing the end-customer’s problem.
During an initial implementation, doing a good job of the functional testing required is essential. Arguably, doing a good job means automating that testing. The functional testing that you do during an initial implementation, after all, is going to be the regression testing that needs to be performed every quarter.
If you are an end-customer – do you want to test yourself, buy a testing service, or take a hybrid-approach?
If you are an SI/MSP – how are you going to differentiate yourself and your services?
What Oracle services or products will be covered during the session?
Test automation for Oracle Fusion Cloud Apps
What will delegates learn if they attend?
An understanding of the importance of highly structured and well-documented testing.
How best to approach testing during quarterly updates.
How good testing mitigates risk and eases the burden IT places on the business.
Why should they go?
As an end-user – determine the optimum solution for your testing needs – uncover significant time-savings, improved documentation, reduced risk and minimal disruption.
As a SI/MSP – how to add genuine and tangible value to the services you offer to your clients.

Five Steps to Determine Your Organization’s Readiness for Oracle Cloud Transformation

Dean Lohiser & Mukil Khandelwal, AXIA Consulting

ERP is no longer considered just a backend application that keeps the lights on. Instead, there are organizations who are saving multi-millions in costs by using Cloud-based ERP transformation front and center of how they run their businesses. So, what’s the secret sauce that makes the difference?

We’ll discuss some baseline questions (and answers) to prepare you for Oracle Cloud-based business transformation.

Extending your SaaS Solutions. Best Practices.

Gustavo Gonzalez, Knex Technology

Over the years, we have heard that Oracle Cloud Applications (Fusion Apps) are closed, and there is no possible way of customizing them. Many organizations with unique business processes have been hesitant to adopt a SaaS solution because of these constraints. In this session, we will demonstrate how you can extend your SaaS solution and some of the best practices for executing it. We’ll start with Oracle itself which has built many extensions such as AI & ML for multiple modules, pre-built Digital Assistants, out-of-the-box integrations with Warehouse Management and other products, and even integrations with Fusion Applications Warehouse (FAW) which provides a new set of analytics capabilities for your Oracle Cloud Apps.

This is the starting point toward a world of extensions that every organization can perform adding functionality not just to the features and functions that Oracle provides but building new functionalities to help their business processes. We’ll review some of the tools available and some of the best practices throughout the lifecycle of the development.

We’ll also consider adopting security and governance when you extend your Oracle Cloud Applications.
