Abstract

Oracle's Fusion Cloud offers Multiperiod Accounting in Payables so that you can record your multiple period expenses and send invoices at the same time! The functionality is flexible enough to redefine calculation methods per your business requirements. It has ability to perform, on demand, and scheduled for future periods. This session will introduce you to the functionality of multiperiod accounting, how to use it, and what needs to be configured. We’ll provide examples of both fixed and variable durations.

As Controller at Merchants Distributors (MDI), I found my team struggling with inefficient processes to create their financial reporting from Oracle ERP Cloud. Although the finance team had some native Cloud ERP reporting, the reports weren't flexible enough to meet our needs, and the steps necessary to perform drilldowns were manual and painful. MDI is a provider for grocery wholesaling, retail support, and logistics support to over 650 stores worldwide. The amount of data we collect and report on is tremendous. With over 20 DOE sites and labs around the U.S. leveraging Oracle ERP and HCM applications, the move to Cloud has already occurred for a few and is imminent for others. However, unlike most of Corporate America, DOE sites have a significantly more stringent cyber-security posture (which varies from site to site) and have historically been hesitant to jump "into the cloud." This case study will highlight cloud success stories and future cloud initiatives for many DOE sites, as well as the obstacles many sites have overcome to start their journey to the cloud.
