EBS Output Post Processor Configurations

Did you know there is a quick and easy way to get your current Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) Output Post Processor (OPP) configurations? Oracle Support provides a BI Publisher (BIP) for EBS Analyzer that includes an entire section with information related to the OPP configuration and also offers some helpful suggestions.

The BIP for EBS Analyzer can be installed and executed as a concurrent request, or you can execute it directly from SQL*Plus. Once the BIP Analyzer has been executed in your environment, it will produce a report output in an easily readable HTML format. The initial launching page is a dashboard that includes color coded highlights that provide a summary of where trouble areas might be with your configuration. There are three sections in this report:
  • Proactive Recommendations.
  • BIP OPP Integration.
  • BI Publisher Integration.

The section related to OPP, BIP OPP Integration, includes six areas of information:

  • Check the Configuration of OPP.
  • BIP/Java based concurrent programs maximum heap is unset or too low.
  • BIP OPP Java Heap Check child.
  • BIP OPP Java Heap Check.
  • Output Post Processor (OPP) Processes & Threads.
  • Output Post Processor (OPP) timeout likely too low.

In addition to information about OPP, you'll find a wealth of information related to BI Publisher, including items such as recommended patches, troubleshooting and runtime properties, to name a few. More information about this analyzer can be found on My Oracle Support in document ID 2032715.1.

For a more in-depth overview of OPP, read my article, "Unravelling the E-Business Suite Output Post Processor (OPP)" in the fall issue of OAUG Insight magazine (OAUG member login required).
