What makes the OATUG mission meaningful to you?

I have supported the Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle database for more than 20 years. In my opinion, Oracle has consistently adjusted and enhanced their products because of feedback from users and partnerships with user groups like the OATUG. I've spent my career working first as a consultant installing and maintaining the database and applications, and also as an educator, offering training, books, blog entries and presentations geared toward sharing the nuances that I've learned about the applications and database with the user community. I can't think of anything more valuable to users than learning from others who have gone through similar experiences, and working with the OATUG to advocate for what the user community needs.

  •  I have held half and whole day workshops sponsored by the OAUG at Collaborate since 2013 about how to upgrade to the latest version of the E-Business Suite
  • Author of 17 books about the Oracle database and Oracle E-Business Suite, including my latest book, Oracle E-Business Suite: the little r12.2.9 upgrade essentials for managers and team members, and the OAUG-sponsored books: the little r12.1.3 upgrade guide, the little r12.1.3 architecture guide, and the little r12.1.3 upgrade tuning and troubleshooting guide.

Why are you running for the board, and what skills, connections, resources, and expertise do you have to offer to the organization?

I would like to join the board because I think it is one of the best ways to continue learning and sharing information about the E-Business Suite and helping to influence changes by Oracle Corporation to the Applications. I come into contact with so many different customers in my travels, and I would enjoy working in a leadership role to help users get everything they can out of the E-Business Suite. I've spent the last 20 years building relationships with Oracle Corporation, with the OATUG, and with dozens of companies that use Oracle products. I have designed and taught numerous training classes, including hands-on classes, so I have considerable expertise in teaching others how to install and upgrade the applications.

Tell us about your current professional role and what Oracle products you are using and/or supporting.

  • As an Oracle database and E-Business Suite consultant. I support the database and all the E-Business Suite applications. I specialize in installing, maintaining and tuning the database and applications. I am also a Demantra/ASCP performance tuning specialist.
